All sorts of different fibres :) some wool, some silk, some raw roving, banana yarn, cottons, ribbons- anything colourful ! It is just wrapped/braided round my natural dreads. This is permanent though the longer you leave it in the more it will felt on in to your hair and it also makes them extremely heavy when wet. The dye I use is Directions apple green and alpine green mixed with turquoise :) though I believe a similar colour can be achieved with manic panics enchanted forest.
